Oh, ze are zo cool. Ze French, mais oui? It started with a few old, scratchy Piaf albums, then all those kookie 1960s rockers, and bit by bit, record by record, I've been drawn into the world of French pop music... So here it is, a quick look at some of the best rock, pop and chanson of years gone by -- from the music halls of the 1930s up through the present day, here are some of the more interesting Gallic artists I've come across over the years... These reviews are split into two parts -- an overview of classic French rock and indie pop, and reviews of older chanson and pre-rock styles.
