Jerry Max Lane portrait Jerry Max Lane recorded some stuff in the 1960s and early '70s under the name Jerry Lane, and had some success as a songwriter before receding into the regional Texas music scene. He came back swinging when George Strait took his song, "Gone As A Girl Can Get" into the Top Ten in 1992. Lane's own records are pretty far off the radar, but he keeps 'em coming... This double LP includes a version of "Up Against The Wall, Redneck Mother" and a bunch of other outlaw country songs, leaning heavily on the Waylon & Willie catalog, along with material by Ed Bruce, Merle Haggard and others, as well as one song written by producer Nelson Larkin. The label was located in Schaumberg, Illinois, although the sessions were recorded in Nashville with a studio crew that included Sonny Garish (steel guitar and dobro), Bunky Keels (piano), Greg Gailbraith and Jack Eubanks (guitars).
